There are 46,900 original miles on the car. It mostly sat from the 1980s until about 4 years ago when the engine was rebuilt. The gas tank, exhaust, suspension and tires were replaced at that time. The car has gone about 3,000 miles since the rebuild.
Otherwise, the car was kept as original as possible. The battery was replaced about 5 months ago. The paint and interior are original. The car is solid and nice as is, but there is some surface rust and a patina on the car. The seats are separating at the seams in some places, but there are no tears or holes. The driver's power window and power front seat do not operate. The radio works, but the speaker needs to be replaced.
The dashboard clock does not work. Otherwise, I believe everything else works on the car.
I have the original owner's manual and shop manual that came with the car. If you don't know, these cars were way ahead of their time. There is a soft close trunk. Set the trunk lid down gently and a motorized mechanism pulls it closed. There is an automatic eye that controls the high-beam headlights and adjusts them when there is oncoming traffic at night. There is air conditioning, power windows, power seats, power steering, and many other features that cars did not have in the 1950s. These things all work, except for the driver's window and front seat that I mentioned above. Also, parts are available for these cars from many websites.
You won't drive yourself crazy trying to find something. The car is enjoyable to drive and turns heads wherever it goes. Here is a link to a video showing a cold startup. Here are a few videos taken while going for a drive. Let me know if you would like to see more photos or videos, or if you would like to come and see the car in person.
